Healthcare recruitment for the United States

The licensing is passable and the visa is the wall, so we say which category you are in at the first call and keep the file ready for the day the date becomes current.

ISO 9001:2000 certified · recruiting for healthcare since 2010

What hiring in the USA actually turns on

The United States is the slowest market we work in and the one candidates are most often misled about. The licensing is passable and the visa is the wall: an employment-based green card for a nurse can sit behind a priority date for years. We will tell you that at the first call rather than at month eighteen, and we work the clearable parts of the file while the date moves.

Talk to the USA desk
Who licenses a clinician
The state board of nursing or the state medical board. Licensure is by state, not national
What stands in the way
For nurses, CGFNS credentials evaluation, the NCLEX-RN and a VisaScreen certificate. For doctors, ECFMG certification through the USMLE
Typical time to joining
Twelve months at best, and longer when an employment-based priority date is retrogressed
Our desk
New Delhi, working to US hospital and staffing-group schedules

The route into the USA, in order

Each step gates the next one. We run all four rather than handing a candidate a checklist and wishing them luck.

  1. 1. Credentials evaluated CGFNS or an equivalent evaluation establishes that the qualification maps to a US one. Nothing else moves until this does.
  2. 2. The licensing exam NCLEX-RN for nurses, the USMLE sequence and ECFMG certification for doctors, plus the English requirement the board sets.
  3. 3. State board licensure The board of the state you will work in issues the licence. Moving state later means a fresh endorsement, so we pick the state deliberately.
  4. 4. VisaScreen and visa VisaScreen certification, then the employment-based petition. We keep the candidate current and employed while the priority date moves.

What USA employers brief us for

These are the roles that come up most, not the whole list. We recruit across every clinical and hospital administration family.

  • Registered nurses Medical-surgical, critical care, theatre and emergency nursing, which is where sponsorship is real
  • Physicians IMG candidates working towards ECFMG certification and a residency position
  • Laboratory and imaging Technologists on the ASCP and ARRT certification routes
  • Therapy services Physical, occupational and respiratory therapy, credentialled through the relevant state board

Where we place inside the USA

  • Hospital systems Multi-site acute care groups hiring on sponsorship
  • Staffing partners US agencies we supply screened international candidates to
  • Long-term care Skilled nursing and rehabilitation, where nurse demand is steadiest
  • Outpatient and imaging Diagnostic and therapy roles on certification rather than licensure routes

We do not promise a visa date, because nobody can. What we commit to is an honest read of your category at the start and a file that is ready the day the date becomes current.

If you want to work in the USA

Find out where you actually stand

Send your CV and we will tell you which step of the route above you are on, what it will cost and how long it realistically takes. Before you spend anything.

  • An honest read of your eligibility, not an enrolment pitch
  • Guidance through registration, examination and documentation
  • Our placement fee is paid by the employer
  • Your CV is never sent to a hospital without your go ahead

Questions we are asked about working in the USA

A CGFNS or equivalent credentials evaluation, a pass in the NCLEX-RN, a licence from the board of nursing in the state you will work in, and a VisaScreen certificate. Then an employer petition on an employment-based immigrant visa, which is the step that carries the wait.

Twelve months is the best case once licensing is clear. When the employment-based priority date for your country is retrogressed it takes considerably longer, and no agency can shorten that. We tell you which category you are in before you spend anything.

ECFMG certification, which means the USMLE sequence and the English requirement, then a residency position through the match for most international medical graduates. It is a longer and more competitive route than the nursing one.

Our placement fee is paid by the employer. Statutory costs the candidate owes directly, such as examination, evaluation and visa fees, are paid by the candidate to those bodies, and we set them out in writing before you start.
